Travel to Workshop - continued

To get from Hackney, Tooting or Balham to Hampton this Summer the very best route is to check Transport for London and type in the exact postcode where you are and TW12 2EW, that will make sure you get to hear about any disruptions on the day.  However, here are the fastest usual ways... By the way, Oyster cards are the cheapest way to travel and can now be used on all Rail journeys within the 6 zone system, which covers the venue.
By Rail:
Tooting (my place) to Wimbledon, then Wimbledon to Hampton, plus 15 mins walk at end: 1hr 10m.
Balham (Janet's place) to Clapham Junction, then Clapham Junction to Hampton, as above: 1hr.
Wandsworth Common (Barbara's place) to Clapham Junction, then as above: 1hr.
Hackney Central (Hackney Posse) Overground to Highbury & Islington, then Victoria line to Vauxhall, then train to Hampton: 1.5hrs.

In case of rail issues, there are alternatives via buses to Wimbledon (number 57 from Tooting) then onwards by rail. Also the 57 bus goes all the way to Kingston, it takes about an hour, and then catch the buses as listed on flyer to Hampton. All these ways take longer, but may be of interest. The tube doesn't seem to add helpful routes, so I have not listed any more here. I am hoping to arrange lift shares for everyone who'll need it, and will post more here as lifts show up.
