Thanks to all for a really great weekend of work. It was also good to see those of you back from travels and operations. Hope all colds have now cleared up too. I will be travelling lots until Monday next week, so text me if you need to be in touch.

More workshop photos

Here's a few more, now that I have a little time to myself, for what seems like the first time in several months. I will sort all the lovely pictures this week, and post more soon. If you took any good ones, please email them to me.

Good things for Beltane

Thanks to the folks who came to the inaugural Short Form study group, it was great. We did the warm ups, two Short Forms, lots of application study, questions and then formally looking at the first three postures of the form.

Aberdeenshire

Thanks to all who came along to the last workshops of the year. It was lovely and busy, full of impromptu massages and delicious food as well as the usual sabres, Single Whips and San Shou. It's been a great year of study and friendship, though we all feel the lack of our dear Neil. His spirit seems still to be there at class when the room fills with laughter or when we are doing Heart Work. I send much love to all and congratulations on what you have achieved with your self-study and work together, despite (or perhaps because of) your teacher living 563 miles away.

San Shou

New Yang Style T'ai Chi San Shou class (The Dance)

This is a new San Shou course. It is sometimes also known as the Yang Style 88 Partner Form, The Dance of Vitality or simply The Dance. It is the pinnacle of Yang Style T'ai Chi and is a superb arena for exploring all the T'ai Chi principles, engage in real partner work, learn countless applications and deepen our understanding of the art. A minimum of 2 years' previous study is needed, please apply for suitability. Each week we will progress with the solo A and B interlocking forms, as well as putting them together, working on the applications, variations and qualities of each movement. This will be a long-term course. The Long Form is used as our 'warm up' each week, and after the session there is the option of staying on for 1/2 hour weapons training at no extra cost. It is also possible to arrive early to take part in the intermediate class any time during 6-8pm, where we cover Long Form, Short Form, warm ups, Chi Gung, push hands, and so on. Traditional Jasmine Tea is served at 8pm when we move from the more junior sessions to advance study.

Please feel free to get in touch with any queries. New students may join any week during October, and by arrangement in November.
