Aberdeenshire Autumn Intensive

 I’m pleased to confirm the schedule for the Aberdeenshire Autumn Intensive with Mark.

The workshop will be at Fetternear Hall from Saturday 16th to Wednesday 20th October, sessions are 2-5pm and 6:30-9:30pm each day. The price is £22 per session, £12 concession. As usual, come along from the first session and then stay for as many as you like. There may be some limits on numbers of people in the kitchen etc, but I’ll advise everyone of any relevant Covid related requirements nearer the time.

There will also be a Left Side class with Mark on the evening of Thursday 21st October at Monymusk Hall. Time and price to be confirmed.

121s will be scheduled for Friday 22nd through to Sunday 24th October, and will be held at my house. Times are usually 2-4pm, 5-7pm, 8-10pm. If you’ve requested a 121, please let me know when you are/are not available and I’ll put together a timetable to suit.

If anyone needs advice or assistance with travel or accommodation, please get in touch and I'll do what I can to help.  It may be possible to stay with local students, and I also have information on local holiday accommodation.

Autumn workshop - venue information

If anyone intending coming along to the Aberdeenshire Autumn workshop didn't get my email with information about the impact of the hall renovations, please get in touch so I can send you the relevant details.

Also I've just noticed there was a typo in the printed invitations saying accomodation is available in the hall. That only applies to the summer intensive at Kingston, so if you need somewhere to stay then let me know as some local folk still have room available.

October workshop, travel and accommodation

The Autumn workshop in Aberdeenshire with Mark will be held 12th-14th October. More details are on the invites from Caroline, or here on the blog. Trains for travel up to 11th October are now available here. Tickets for the return leg should be available in the next week or so: you can be notified when they're on sale by clicking here.

If anyone needs help with travel plans or arranging accomodation with local students, please get in touch and I'll do what I can to help. Staying in the hall may be possible, but is not recommended - please let me know if you were intending staying there.

Only 2 weeks to Autumn Intensive

Sessions are 2-5pm and 6:30-9:30pm each day. Come from the Saturday afternoon and stay for as many sessions as you can. The price is £44 per day or £22 per half day session, concession prices are £24 / £12. We all bring a little food to share in the break.

We'll be warming up the hall with a Weapons session 7-10pm on Friday 12th.  Please bring any spare weapons as we may have the opportunity to practise in the breaks over the weekend.

Great River and T'ai Centre students will be very welcome - a wonderful opportunity to share great teaching in the company of fellow students in a beautiful rural location.

For visitors there is still some accomodation available with local students from £5 per night and there are also good B&Bs and hotels in the area. Please get in touch with me if you need more information, somewhere to stay or any other help with travel, things to do & see in the area, ...

For those who haved booked 121s with Mark, I'll be in touch later this weekend to confirm dates and times. All 121s will be at Balvack.

It's almost time for this year's Autumn Intensive in Aberdeenshire with Master Mark Raudva. 

Sessions are 2-5pm and 6:30-9:30pm Saturday 14th to Monday 16th October at Fetternear Hall.

Come from the Saturday afternoon and stay for as many sessions as you can. The price is £44 per day or £22 per half day session, concession prices are £24 / £12 for those who feel they cannot afford this. We all bring a little food to share in the break.

We'll be warming up the hall with a Weapons session 7-10pm on Friday 13th.  Please bring any spare weapons as we may also have the opportunity to practise in the breaks over the weekend.

So if you enjoyed the summer Intensive, or couldn't make it to Kingston last month, then you may be interested in coming to the Aberdeenshire Intensive from Saturday 14th to Monday 16th October. There will also be a Weapons workshop 7-10pm on Friday 13th.

The venue is Fetternear Hall (map available here). Note the hall is in a quiet rural location 2 miles from the nearest town / bus-stop (Kemnay), 6 miles from the closest train station (lnverurie) and about 13 miles from Aberdeen Airport.

More details will be posted here in due course. In the meantime if any visiting students need any help with travel or accommodation, including transport to/from the venue please get in touch with me. There will be some rooms available with local students and I can provide info on local B&Bs and hotels. It may be possible to stay at the venue but please note there are limited facilities (i.e. no showers).

If any of the Aberdeenshire students have spaces still available, please let me know so I can help match you with the visitors.

Accommodation request

Janet from the Aberdeenshire school will be down in London later this month and hopes to come along to Thursday class whilst here. If anyone has a spare room and could put her up on 28th and 29th January, please get in touch with me. Thanks!
