Back online again

After lots of travel, I am finally back home and have my broadband up and running again after some issues. Here are some pictures from the last few weeks. It's been an emotional time, since the funeral, but full of love and fellowship. The after effects of Carrying The Fire, in the heart of the moors in the Highlands, have also been profound. Last night's Hackney class was excellent, great questions by all the senior students especially. Thanks for all your time, effort and energy. It is fun to teach an experienced group... Finally, I am occasionally not able to get to Mark's classes at the moment but I hope to see everybody on Tuesday next week, and have the staff bags made by then too. People have been asking where to get the traditional cotton taichi shoes now that Shaolin Way has shut. You can get them at Playwell. If anyone knows of a shop where you can walk in and buy them, let me know.

Wooden swords

As we were all coveting Janet's lovely new wooden sword, I'll place an order for any of the Aberdeenshire students who want one and we'll share the postage costs. Please let me know by Monday if you'd like a white or brown one and I'll contact the supplier to see when they'll have the white ones back in stock. Here's the link.

New practice swords

I have just ordered a wooden single hand waster sword from The Knight Shop which comes to £44 with postage. The cheap Chinese ones we use for contact and applications are so badly weighted, I thought it was time I got something a bit better, and David told me about this site. I will post a review as soon as I have had a chance to test it out. I can't wait for my package to arrive...

Thanks to Christian for the comment below from which I have taken this link for Cold Steel brand polypropylene practice swords, which I have not yet tried. They look very good. The Knight Shop also do a synthetic durable sparring sword, and I will look into both as soon as funds allow. All good recommendations are most welcome.
