Five Elements Chi Kung

Just had an email from a London student who is missing their daily swim and cycle. 5 Elements has really helped, they said. There is a clip of it in the Dropbox. If you are a Lido student and have a more recent clip of me doing this, please email or send it to me, as it would be nice to post it on here and on www.instagram.com/greatrivertaichi

A good place to do the Chi Kung, windows or doors open, a bit of air and light.
Be well, all, more soon.

New Beginners Tai Chi class in Hackney

New Beginners T'ai Chi Course starts 16th October 2013

All are welcome to this short, enjoyable after-work class in the wonderful Round Chapel main hall. No experience is needed, all are welcome. Wear warm comfortable clothing and flat soft shoes or trainers. We will learn warm ups, Chi Gung (Qi Gong), and the Short Form posture by posture each week. These will leave you feeling relaxed and invigorated. For those who then become interested in further study or partner-work, there will be opportunities to stay on for further study later into the evening, as the term progresses.

Beginners may start on any Wednesday night in October or November 2013 at 6pm prompt, and on dates after that by arrangement with the teacher. Come in through one of the main front doors facing Lower Clapton Road, the door will be marked with a T'ai Chi poster.
Any questions or queries? Call Caroline on 07732 659104 any time or send an email to caroline [at] greatrivertaichi [dot] co [dot] uk.

Chi Kung Vidoes

These are now available for my students via a Yousendit link. I have sent them to those whose email addresses I have, I hope you find them useful. If you would like them and have not received the link today, please get in touch. I will do this after the bank holiday weekend.

Chi Gung / Qi Gong

After many years of meaning to get around to it, I have now finally filmed the Five Elements and other Chi Gung set that we do occasionally at class, thanks to Davina. They will be available for my students by tomorrow. They are for study reference only and may not be shared or posted on the web. A short text file will accompany the videos with some breath instructions, and tips on the way each one is done. I will be sending them out by Yousendit, which means you'll get a web file address to download them. If you would like them, please send me an email with 'Chi Gung' in the title line over the next week.

Chi Kung / Qi Gong

Week by week, a couple at a time, I am finally filming the Chi Kung set that I occasionally teach, including the Five Elements, at Hackney Round Chapel. Apart from a couple of sticking and sensitivity training exercises, these are the only aspects of Great River's formal syllabus that I did not learn from Mark Raudva or John Kells. I learned them from my excellent second T'ai Chi teacher Kajedo, of whom I have written before. He was taught by the Kobayashis, students of Dr Chi. I will make the clips available to all my students when they are complete, for private study use. Thanks to HRC student Stuart, who has prompted me to do this. I expect it to be done within a month.
