River bank tales

Above is a picture of my good friend Rebecca swimming in the Thames this August. I was due to go to Walthamstow Meeting with her today but she has a cold, so I went to Wandsworth Meeting on my own instead. Very interesting, lots of 'ministry', less silence. Still, warm, friendly and the room has the feeling of a place where for 250 years, people have sat down (mostly) quietly together. I borrowed a book from their library called 'The Gospel According to Zen - Beyond the Death of God', from 1970, it doesn't seem to have an ISBN. The second picture is of Tara the friendly swan, with Farmer Ian. They are becoming good friends, Tara says less than Ian, and has a great flair for gentle nibbling, Ian has the firmest handshake I have ever experienced.
