I discovered this book in the library at the Wandsworth Quaker Meeting House: 'The Gospel According To Zen'. ed. Robert Sohl and Audrey Carr, 1970. It is absolutely excellent, direct, challenging, inspiring. I just ordered myself a copy. The language used by the many writers it contains is often much more clear and less 'touchy-feely' than books form the current era, 40 years later. It is also the only place I have seen quoted the author of 'The Supreme Doctrine - the Psychology of Transformation', Hubert Benoit. That book was Charlotte Joko Beck's main teacher for 10 years, and is a difficult but tremendously rewarding read (in translation form the original French).
