Earlier this week I taught T'ai Chi to the first year puppetry students at Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD). I am increasingly being asked to give introductory workshops for specific groups, such as school children, the puppeteers, Amnesty International employees, or today, for yoga teacher trainees, and I find it really rewarding. At CSSD the group were all about 20 years of age or younger, apart from the movement tutor who had also joined us for the 2 hour session. The head of department had previously studied T'ai Chi with Angus Clarke in 1980s, and asked me to introduce her students to rooting, flow and fluidity in movement and listening and sticking with a partner. We aim to make this a regular weekely or fortnightly session next year, and hopefully also for the movement students of the tutor who was present.

Today I went over to teach Jonathan Monks' yoga students in North East London (see Yogamonks in links). We concentrated on sticking, listening and getting into the ground. Several folks had other T'ai Chi, martial arts or bodywork experience, as well as their yoga practice, which made for a good session, lots of hands-on work, and a great deal of softening and joining.

Thanks to all participants for their good work and humour.
