Northern lights last night

Thanks to all who said they'd seen the aurora last night. Didn't think we'd see them at all this year due to historic low sun spot activity. It's 11 years since I last saw them (sun activity cycles are 11 years between peaks) and I remember how wonderful it was over a month or so to look up and see the silent pulsing lights. In my life so far I have seen them maybe 5 times. There are good photos from last night on the STV site, especially one taken over Bow Fiddle rock. Get your SLRs and tripods ready for tonight.
