Facts cut a hole in us
David Byrne, Talking Heads and Brian Eno, as well as a huge cast of unbelievable musicians made one of my top 5 LPs of all time: 'Remain In Light', from 1980. A wonderful, motoric, poetic festival of shamano-funk, laced through with the deepest, truest lyrics, shatteringly sung by Byrne and great backing female vocals. It features 'Once in a Lifetime', which everyone knows and loves (featuring Tina Weymouth's super two note contrapuntal bass line). The video to 'Once in a Lifetime' is one of the first videos I ever remember seeing and it has stayed with me ever since: Byrne in his suit superimposed floating above a river then dancing wildly. If you don't know this LP then go and listen to it now! If you are feeling ill, it will make you feel better.
