Darn brands
I had a very enjoyable hour late last night listening to Radiolab episodes whilst cutting-off or putting coloured patches over all the remaining logos and brand names on my clothes. I rarely buy anything, even from charity shops that have visible logos, but sometimes an otherwise good item has one or two on it, and I have a stash of nice bits of cloth to applique on top of the offending branding. Finally (and co-incidentally) reading No Logo by Naomi Klein, which has been on my to-read pile for years. Very informative and totally right-on, but not a good read stylistically, so, unusually, I'm skimming. After a cracking run of books: Iain Bank's 'Whit', Marcel's new book and Robert McFarlane's 'The Old Ways', I have been spoiled.
I may not have had a germ-free adolescence but I intend to have a logo-free middle age.
