Sword and Sabre handle wrap
Recently my telescopic sword's fabric tape handle wrapping [I realise that's alot of nouns in one sentence] became worn out and manky from use. I finally had time to pop in to a bike shop and buy some handle bar tape to replace it, as I figured that'd be just right for the job. The guy in the Clapham Evans Cycles shop was very helpful and assisted me in finding some black tape amongst the dayglo. Mark cut and fitted the tape for me as shown below, it was very straightforward. There's enough tape in a £12 pack to do about 6 handles of our telescopic swords, so I am bringing my pack to class, and if you want to use some, bung me a couple of quid... You may need a drop of Evo Stick to start and finish the tape off, as it is non adhesive, but self-gripping. Alternatively, use some thin waterproof black tape as shown in the photo, (as the pack comes with enough of this finishing tape for two swords only.) This padded gel tape handles really well, and doesn't get sticky. The guy in the cycle shop was intrigued about sword handle wrappings, as most of his customers are cyclists rather than T'ai Chi folk.
