generosity
My neighbour has trimmed the tree that overshadows my garden, whilst he decides whether to get it pollarded or cut down professionally (it's a self-sown ash tree, there are lots in the neighbourhood, and it would be replaced with a fruiting tree...). I just went outside to pick rocket, chard and leeks for dinner, and found that he had left me this neat little row of mini logs, the perfect size for my wood burner. Ash wood burns even when green, and is a lovely clean hot fuel when well-seasoned. I stacked it in the shed, which has made me realise the shed really needs sorting out...
