Sword, Staff and Sabre continue with a new format from this term rather than weapons days with all 3 disciplines.
Sabre: a taught session for all levels including beginners, with time for questions for more experienced students, will take place each first Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm promptly for 1 1/4 hours. This will be before our regular class at the usual Trinity Road venue, and other students who are not studying Sabre are encouraged to arrive as usual and stick, push hands, and do partnerwork until the warm up set at 7.45pm. There is a flat fee of £5 for the Sabre class, separate from normal termly fees, and it is possible to just come along to the Sabre session if you cannot stay for the rest of the class. Dates for 2011: 13th September, 4th October, 1st November, 6th December.

Staff: class will be held approximately monthly at our regular place, the St Mary Magdalene Church Hall, when we can get it, and other similarly spacious venues when we cannot. The sessions will last for 3 hours, usually on a Sunday, and will include Staff Form, sticking staffs, stepping staff partnerwork and drills. The next session will be on Sunday 2nd October from 1-4pm, please arrive promptly. Cost will be £15 for the session, concessions available. There will be time for questions and those new to staff are also welcome.
On the months where we are not at class for the first week of the month, such as September and January, the weapons classes will be on the second week back. I will list all the dates here, and they will also be on at www.thetaichicentre.co.uk For those unable to make their preffered sessions, it is always possible to learn weapons privately with Mark or one of the assistants. Do get in touch if you have any queries.
