Sadly we said goodbye this week to my good student Darren (centre back, top pic) and his wife Jo, who both studied with Steven and then myself, as they return to New Zealand to raise their young family. We all wish them the best of luck and they will be sorely missed. Having two good T'ai Chi players in one family is surely very auspicious... Over my 9 years teaching so far I have counted 9 good students who have emigrated (including Scots heading to England, and London students to Scotland) to follow work or family commitments: The Downies, Heather, Richard, Kevin, Florence, AG, Darren and Jo. Modern life means moving about for so many of us, myself included. I do hope that old students still feel part of our wider T'ai Chi family and that they find a little time for some hearty stillness within the movement of their lives.
