I just heard that the school I sponsor in Ladakh has been flooded in a mud slide in the heavy rains that have swept much of East Asia. As yet there are no firm reports about casualties or injuries. You can read about it at http://www.dwls.org/ The IT room was flooded up to halfway up its walls, much school equipment will need to be replaced. The school has won awards for its eco design, sustainable building and the quality of its education for both boys and girls in this mainly Tibetan Buddhist area of Kashmir, India.
