Here's the flyer/ poster for this year's summer workshop, please get in touch if you'd like me to send the file for your use. All folks are welcome as long as they have studied with us for at least two terms, and completed at least half the Short Form, have had a go at double pushing hands and the salutations. Folks form other schools and traditions are also welcome, they just need to get in touch with me as regards eligibility. (For Instructors: if you have a student who really wants to come along but may not be experienced enough yet, recommend they have a 121 with you to look at covering what's needed. If time, also have a go at Ta Lu, perhaps.)
As usual, people can come on the first day and stay for as many consecutive days as they like. Those of you who are real regulars over the years, and are familiar with the work, have more leeway with this... So if work, study or a commitment means you'll miss the odd session, don't worry at all. Please do drop me an email if you intend to come along, listing roughly how many days you think you'll do and if you are an Aberdeenshire student, let me know if you are able to put up a visiting student or two. I am so looking forward to spending time with all of you, enjoying the long light evenings and sharing great food.
For those who don't know, days will begin at 2pm and run for 3 hours with a tea break. We break for about 1 1/2 hours to share the food we have brought (there is a kitchen with a hob and oven) then we resume from 6.30-9.30pm. There is ample car parking and we are in a secluded wooded area overlooking fields. Accommodation can be with local students, for a donation of £5 per night, at the hall itself, (for which you'll need a sleeping bag and mat) for £3 a night towards electricity, or there are some local b&bs, hotels, contact me for details. For those feeling flush, and searching for a total culture shock, there are some awesome luxury 5 star hotels in real castles nearby, which would certainly make for a fun week of contrasts...
Folks will notice the slightly earlier start and finish times for the evening sessions, which I hope will help those of you who are travelling a long way each day or are usually early birds.
