snow snow snow
It's snowy here in London, as it was in Gothenburg when I left yesterday. In Sweden it was about -7 degrees C, here it's around zero. I had a wonderful time in Gothenburg, a beautiful and sane city. I was staying in an area called Haga, which was full of art, crafts and coffee and chocolate shops... which was nice. Jonathan was out teaching yoga and I had time to just chill - a rarity. Yesterday I shared T'ai Chi with Mithila (http://www.mithical.com/), Anna (http://www.annadahlman.se/) and Mika who mainly do the Beijing 24 Form, and I joined in with that too. We did some of our warm - ups, shortened Front Heart Salutations and sticking. A wonderful teacher Gudrun joined us, who had studied with Gerda 'Pytt' Geddes for many years. We both knew Frank Woods, who used to come to my Inverurie classes, and who wrote the excellent book about Gerda's life 'Dancer in the Light'. It seems it really is a small world. There is almost no push hands or partner work in the T'ai Chi in Gothenburg, I was told. Everyone loved the Heartwork and the sticking so much that we may organise a workshop in 2010 to encourage partnerwork T'ai Chi for players of all styles in the city. We'll see. I would be delighted to go back, as it's a creative, friendly place.
