I received my first Christmas card today (thanks Ev!) so in the spirit of returning the energy in good time rather than leaving it til too late...

Here's a find from my drawing visit to the British Museum two weeks ago. This vase from 14th Century China has a wonderful triple spiral pattern, similar to those so beloved of John that are to be found carved at New Grange, in Ireland. I particularly like the leaf/ heart shaped surrounds to the spiral motifs. I will scan some of my sketches soon and post them.
