Steven Moore has a new website http://www.taichiheartwork.com which is full of great pictures and information, as well as giving details of his new classes in North London starting this Autumn. If you have North London friends then send them this link! For your South London friends, www.thetaichicentre.co.uk puts them in touch with my teacher Mark Raudva.
Well, that's London covered. Now there really is no excuse for the 6 million or so folks here not yet doing T'ai Chi.
One more week down here then I return to Scotland to teach.
This was the blog for Great River T'ai Chi and The T'ai Chi Centre from 2006-2023. This is now archive-only. You can find the schools at www.thetaichicentre.co.uk and www.greatrivertaichi.com

A quick note...

These were taken during the photo session for the short form resources, more when I get home on September 7th. Sunday class will starting again on 10th. All the other dates are on the blog. The week-long workshop was fabulous, moving and full of great group energy: thanks and well done to all who attended. Thanks most of all to Mark for wonderful teaching. Back to London now for a friend's wedding, lots of T'ai Chi and Heartwork, and a few days of holiday!

Return
Tomorrow I go to visit my family then on Thursday I am returning to Scotland to assist at the week long T'ai Chi workshop at my home. It feels very strange to be preparing to travel North again as this is the longest I have been away from Aberdeenshire since I moved there over 4 years ago. I have some great photos from the last few days when Paolo and Davina came to photograph Mark for resources for students learning the Short Form. David will be working on the design with Mark, and I was mainly the fixer, reboundee and cook! I will post the photos when I get home. Yesterday I finished learning the postures of the sabre form, now the hard work begins to really put some life into it and fill it with energy as well as improve the postures themselves. P and D had an introduction to the sabre too, and as soon as I am ready I will organise a class for those interested.
It's been an amazing visit and I will write more another time. It's a very sunny day so I should get outdoors and get some air. I look forward to seeing everyone for the workshop and am available on my mobile if you need me before then.

Sweetness
It's very late but anyway... I cycled to David's and did some T'ai Chi in the garden before the rain which was great, mainly working on the sabre form on the lawn. This week I hope to learn the final postures so I can really get to work on it. Later we went inside and did partnerwork: heartwork, push hands and some free pushing. I'll go back tomorrow evening for a few more hours' work/play with David and his dad Terry, who also studies with Mark.
The only distraction for me is the mass of fallen purple plums next door to David's house, I may have to go and ask if I can scrump them so I can make jam and crumble: seems such a shame to waste them. There are also ripe blackberries, raspberries and loganberries in the garden, though small due to lack of water, which makes them sweeter. It seems the harder the conditions, the finer the flavour...
